Pastor Steven Sargent - Panelist

Pastor Steve Sargent is a lifelong resident of Ashtabula County whose life reflects a deep commitment to service, leadership, and community impact. A graduate of the historic Harbor High School, he attended Kent State University at Ashtabula and has devoted much of his adult life to serving others.

 

Pastor Steve spent many years as Director of the Ashtabula Homeless Shelter, Inc. (Samaritan House) and served twelve years as a Juvenile Corrections Officer at the Ashtabula County Youth Detention Center. He is a founding member of the Ashtabula County Citizen’s Circle and has served his community in multiple civic roles, including Funeral Attendant with Ducro Funeral Home, City Councilman for the City of Ashtabula, and member of both the Ashtabula County Workforce Policy Board and Children Services Board.

 

He currently serves on numerous boards, including the Ashtabula County 503 Board, Ashtabula County FEMA Board, Ashtabula Kiwanis Club Board, ARMC Community Advisory Board, Lake Erie Correctional Institution Community Advisory Board, Ravenwood Health Board, and as President of the Hiawatha Life Skills Department.

 

In ministry, Pastor Steve serves as Pastor of Hiawatha Church of God in Christ. He also serves as Administrative Assistant to the Bishop of the Tennessee 6th Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ and is a member of the Finance Team for the Treasury Department of the Church of God in Christ.

 

Pastor Steve was inducted into the Ashtabula/Harbor/Lakeside High School Hall of Fame in 2006 and received the Ashtabula County Growth Partnership President’s Award in 2018. He continues to serve as a trusted advisor and mentor to youth in high schools and colleges throughout the United States.
